Malt of The Earth Whisky Company Ltd. trades solely on a business-to business basis. We greatly value our customers and never sell on personal information that we collect through conducting our sales. Should you be an existing customer or a business that is looking to trade with us, this policy details how we use or will use your personal information.

What information do we collect about you?

Cookies

Our website is hosted by Squarespace Inc. Their privacy policy can be seen through accessing this link. Cookies are text files that are stored on your computer when you visit a website. The vast majority of web browsers automatically collect cookies and it is advisable to refer to your browser’s support pages if you would like to restrict or disable their collection.

We do not collect these at present through Squarespace for metrics; in the event that this was to change, we will update our Privacy Policy with immediate effect.

Sales

We collect information about our business-to-business customers when you enter in to a sale with us for the purposes of invoicing; further, we may keep a record of your contact information for the purposes of credit control and customer care.

In accordance with HMRC’s requirement to keep invoices for 6 years since the end of the last financial year that they relate to, these details will be held by us for this time. Where there is no longer an obligation to keep a record of our invoice to you, it will be securely erased from our system.

We collect information about end customers where we offer participation in social media competitions. Such competitions may require you to ‘like and share’ a post or to tag a ‘friend’; note that you will need to customise your respective social media privacy settings in order to control your level of personal visibility. We will never share or sell on any personal details that you enter in our competitions.

Marketing

We do not currently send an electronic newsletter out and as such do not keep records of the consumers of our products. Our preference is always for a face-to-face introduction when dealing with other businesses or consumers at trade fairs and events. We get a great deal of satisfaction from allowing you to smell the aromas of our whiskies and where possible, to sample them.

We would of course welcome an email or telephone call from you should you be interested in stocking our products. Please use the ‘Contact and Trade Enquiries’ page of our website to reach out to us.

Access to your information

You have the right to request a copy of the personal information that we hold about you. If you would like to receive a copy of this, please email us at info@maltoftheearth.co.uk and we will be pleased to provide this for you.

Our customers are our most important asset and we are keen to ensure that the information held about you is accurate and warranted. We would be pleased to amend or remove any information that you consider to be inaccurate or unwarranted.

Our website contains links to the business addresses of our stockists and to other websites. This privacy policy is only applicable to this website and we would advise you to consult the individual privacy policy of any of those linked to.
